About Me

I’m Alois Herrmann, originally from Munich, Germany, and now based in Vilnius. During school I thought of becoming a cameraman – after trying out the film industry I realized it wasn’t the right path for me.

For several years I worked in the HoReCa industry, spending countless hours behind the bar and on the floor, managing events and studying wine as a passion.
Those experiences shaped my understanding of service and the human side of hospitality, and they continue to guide how I think about wine today.

Along the way I trained as a WSET Level 3 Sommelier and gained experience in wine wholesale, eventually helping to found Studio Wine, a company dedicated to bringing thoughtful, character-driven wines to Lithuania. Through Studio Wine, I curate selections that connect people to place, celebrating both classic European regions and innovative producers.

I keep photography as a passion, creating still images of the people, things and spaces around me. Photography always has and continues teaching me to look closely, tell stories through detail, and value authenticity—skills that have naturally carried over into the world of wine.

Whether through wine, photography, or simple hospitality, my goal is to share experiences that bring joy, spark curiosity, and make every person feel a little more special.

Currently I work at Demo Restoranas in Vilnius, I work closely with the team to shape the restaurant’s wine identity, curating thoughtful pairings for their seasonal tasting menus and creating a list that reflects both classic European regions and forward-thinking producers. My role bridges service and storytelling: collaborating with Chef Tadas Eidukevičius to match dishes and vintages, training staff to share each wine’s background with confidence, and ensuring that every guest experiences the same sense of discovery that drives my own passion for wine. Through Demo, I continue to explore the connection between food, wine, and culture—bringing together producers, diners, and ideas in an atmosphere of creativity and hospitality.
